Aims: The aim of this study, designed as a descriptive study, was to address the alarm fatigue of nurses assigned to intensive care units and the affecting factors.

Method: This study was conducted with 192 nurses who were employed for intensive care units of state and university hospitals located in a city to the west of Türkiye. The date were collected using the face-to-face survey method. “Demographics Information Form” and “Alarm Fatigue Questionnaire” were used for data collection. Frequency and percentage distribution were used for the analysis of nurses’ demographics, and the unpaired t tests, one-way analysis of variance, Mann-Whitney U test, and Kruskal-Wallis test were used to compare the scores on the alarm fatigue questionnaire with the demographics.

Results: Of nurses, 76.0% were women, 70.8% had a bachelor's degree, and 48.4% have been working in the intensive care unit for 1-9 years. Average of scores achieved by nurses on the alarm fatigue questionnaire was 13.71±6.018. There was a statistically significant difference in the nurses’ ages, training on the medical devices and alarm management and average scores on the alarm fatigue questionnaire (p<0.05), but there was no relationship between the gender, marital status, professional experience and education variables and the average scores on the alarm fatigue questionnaire (p>0.05).

Conclusion: As a result, nurses’ level of alarm fatigue was determined to be close to average. It may be suggested that in-service training provided to intensive care nurses should focus more on the alarm management.

Methods: Data were collected from 154 patients treated at a university hospital using the Spirituality Scale and the Dialysis Symptom Index. Descriptive statistics were applied, including frequencies, percentages, means, and standard deviations, along with t-tests, ANOVA, Pearson correlation, and hierarchical regression analyses.

Results: A strong negative correlation was found between spirituality and dialysis symptom burden. Spirituality alone accounted for 50.4% of the variance in symptom severity, which increased to 90.2% when complications, comorbidities, family history, and caregiver support were included. Patients with higher spirituality levels and caregiver support reported milder symptoms, whereas those experiencing complications and limited support reported more severe symptoms.

Conclusion: These findings suggest that incorporating spiritual support into nursing care may enhance treatment adherence and reduce the severity of dialysis-related symptoms in hemodialysis patients.

Aim:Developing affective and relational qualities, such as sensitive love, empathic tendency, and emotional and ontological well-being, is essential in nursing education. These factors influence students’ academic success and their ability to provide compassionate, person-centered care. Exploring the relationships between these variables and perceived parental attitudes can inform strategies to strengthen emotional and professional development among nursing students.

Methods:This study used a descriptive and correlational design. It was conducted during the 2022–2023 academic year with first- and second-year nursing students from a foundation and a state university in Ankara, Türkiye. Data were collected online using the Responsive Love Scale, Emotional Well-Being Scale, Ontological Well-Being–Life Project Scale, Leuven Perceived Parenting Scale, and Empathic Tendency Scale. Descriptive statistics and t-tests were employed to analyze the data.

Results:Of the participants, 67.9% were from a foundation university, 90.7% were female, and the mean age was 20 years. Significant differences were observed in the ontological well-being sub-dimensions “regret” and “taking action” by school type (p<0.05). Male students showed higher positive emotional well-being, whereas female students reported higher maternal behavioral control (p<0.05). Empathic tendency correlated positively with positive emotional well-being, hope, and parental sensitivity and negatively with negative emotional well-being and ontological nothingness (p<0.01).

Conclusion:Enhancing emotional and ontological well-being, empathy, and sensitive love through integrated nursing curricula may foster students’ holistic development and readiness to deliver compassionate, person-centered care.

The developers of the checklist provided permission. The Turkish version of the checklist was created by comparing the forms provided by language experts with those of the researchers. Both the Turkish and original forms were sent to five academics specializing in web surveys, and expert opinions were obtained.

It was determined that the Turkish version could be used to report the results of online surveys and enhance their quality. The CHERRIES Checklist consists of categories such as “design, ethical review board, development and pre-testing; recruitment process and description of the sample having survey administration, response rates, preventing multiple entries from the same individual and analysis”. Articles that report on studies conducted online using the CHERRIES Checklist will provide reviewers and readers with a more effective and higher-quality understanding of sample selection and potential deviations from a 'representative' sample.

Conclusion: The Turkish adaptation of the CHERRIES checklist is a valid measurement tool that can be used to report on and improve the quality of online e-survey studies.

Surgery remains a cornerstone of treatment, with mastectomy and breast-conserving surgery (BCS) being the most frequently utilized methods, particularly in early-stage cases. Clinical evidence suggests that both approaches offer comparable long-term survival outcomes in eligible patients. However, the choice of surgical procedure is not determined solely by clinical or biological factors; patients' psychological states, sociodemographic characteristics, cultural values, and the guidance of healthcare professionals play significant roles in this process. This review aims to examine the multidimensional factors influencing the surgical decision-making process in light of the current literature. The study highlights the importance of body image perception, fear of recurrence, and the shared decision-making model, while also addressing the critical role of nurses in providing patient information and psychosocial support. In conclusion, patient-centered decision-making processes conducted through a multidisciplinary approach appear to increase treatment satisfaction and reduce decisional conflict.

Patients undergoing coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) surgery experience numerous interrelated symptoms, primarily pain, cardiac anxiety, and sleep disturbances. These symptoms slow the healing process and limit quality of life. Current literature emphasizes the effectiveness of non-pharmacological interventions, such as mind-body techniques, exercise-based rehabilitation, and music therapy, in symptom management, in addition to conventional drug therapies. The aim of this review is to comprehensively examine non-pharmacological interventions used in the management of pain, cardiac anxiety, and sleep quality problems observed in patients undergoing CABG surgery in the postoperative period. In this context, mind-body techniques, exercise and cardiac rehabilitation programs, music therapy, and other complementary methods, as well as educational and psychosocial support approaches, are discussed. Literature review reveals that non-pharmacological interventions are effective in reducing symptom severity, improving psychological well-being, and enhancing quality of life. The effectiveness of these interventions is thought to arise through regulatory effects on the autonomic nervous system, neuroendocrine response, and inflammatory processes. In conclusion, integrating non-pharmacological approaches into post-CABG care processes with a holistic understanding significantly contributes to improving patient outcomes. Further research in this area is recommended to focus particularly on long-term effects and multi-component interventions.
